Alecrim Namrau Homestay

We stayed 2 nights at Pousada. It is a very nice guesthouse. The room are small but cozy, they have a lot of blankets to keep you warm. There’s hot water but make sure to plug in the device as soon as you get there cause it takes a while. They charge 15$ x person x night. We payed 5$ each meal for 2 people. We had rice, veggies and omelette for dinner/lunch and potatoes or cake for breakfast with coffee and tea. We were able to arrange the guide for the Ramelau with them for 20$. The owner speaks good English. It was a bit hard to organise the trip back to Dili from there. Normally other guest houses were very helpful in helping us finding a ride, but in Hato Bulico no one really seems to know when the trucks are heading back to Maubisse.

Such a disgusting place. It is an eye soar in the surrounding area. Trash right outside gate, untidy inside, feels like ghost house. I stayed one night, and i was waiting to runaway. Bad and no communication in terms food and meals. Overpriced meal price. And very bad meal. I had 5 dolar dinner which was pathetic. Over all, the guest house to avoid. There are better places around.

We really enjoyed our stay with Alex and Adelaide before climbing Mt Ramelau. They were incredibly hospitable, and Alex was able to organise his grandsons to guide us up the mountain for sunrise. The homestay itself is cosy, clean, and has great views over the village. Adelaide made us delicious meals and it was nice and close to the beginning of the hike. If you are planning on visiting Mt Ramelau then look no further than this lovely homestay!

Arrived without reservation around 4 pm and got greeted by their kid who speaks quite good English. Showed me the room, which is perfectly fine for a short stay before the hike. Beds are nice. Room is 15$, dinner 3$, breakfast (after hike) 2$. You get the breakfastafter you return from the mountain and only then you pay. Food is okay. Hot water, but no showers, so gotta use buckets. Shared toilets. New there is a store just 1 min up the road that let’s you buy many things, such as food, lamps, clothes and even alcohol.

Alex and Adelaide were fantastic hosts. This homestay is lovely - comfy beds, great local food and a really nice cosy place with a big deck and common area to drink tea and look out over the hills. Easy to organise a guide to head up to the top of Ramelau. Highly reccomend!
