Atauro Island — West Coast
The west coast of Atauro drops away into the Wetar Strait, one of the deepest channels in the region. Nutrient-rich upwellings from over 3,000 meters deep feed these walls, creating an ecosystem of staggering abundance. Dramatic drop-offs, pristine hard corals, and some of the best wall diving in the Coral Triangle.

Adara 1 & 2
Depth: 5-40m
Reef sharks, turtles, trevally schools, pristine hard corals
Secret Garden
Depth: 8-25m

Atauro Island — East Coast
The east coast faces the sheltered waters between Atauro and mainland Timor. Calmer conditions, gentler slopes, and healthy coral gardens make these sites ideal for newer divers and snorkelers. The seagrass beds at Beloi are a nursery for juvenile reef fish and home to seahorses.

Beloi Lagoon
Depth: 2-12m
Seahorses, octopus, juvenile reef fish, seagrass beds
Atauro Garden
Depth: 5-20m
Turtles, table corals, brain corals, staghorn formations
Dili — Shore Dives
You do not need to leave the capital to find extraordinary diving. Dili's north coast faces the Ombai Strait, and the shore diving here is some of the best in Southeast Asia. Walk in from the beach, descend a few meters, and you are in another world. Pertamina Pier is a world-class muck diving site; Cristo Rei and Dili Rock bring the pelagics.
