Arrival in Dili
Welcome to Timor-Leste! Your guide meets you at Presidente Nicolau Lobato Airport with a warm smile and whisks you to your hotel along the palm-lined seafront. Take the afternoon to unwind, then join us for a stroll along the Dili waterfront as fishing boats come in and the hills glow gold. Grab a fresh coconut, watch the city come alive at sunset, and get ready: Asia's newest nation has a lot to show you.

Dili to Atauro
Set sail across the Wetar Strait to Atauro. By fast boat, you're on the island in about an hour, with eyes peeled for dolphins (and, in season, whales) on the way. Prefer the local experience? The public ferry takes about three and a half hours, sharing the deck with islanders, market goods and the odd goat. Either way, the reef starts just metres from where you land.

Exploring Atauro
Today you travel to Adara, a peaceful fishing village on Atauro's quiet west coast, about 45 minutes by road from Beloi. Life here is simple and unhurried. There's no phone signal, the houses are built from hand-made sand-and-rock bricks, and fishing boats rest on the sand.

Atauro back to Dili
Enjoy a last morning swim off Beloi beach, then cross back over the Wetar Strait to Dili. Keep an eye out for dolphins on the way, and settle back into the capital for the evening.

Departure day
Enjoy a final, unhurried breakfast with views of the bay. Depending on your flight, there may be time for one last waterfront stroll or a stop for Timorese coffee beans to take home. Your guide collects you for the short drive to the airport, and you leave with new friends, full memory cards and the warmest obrigadu barak (thank you very much) from all of us. Until next time!
