Charming rural location in a small village so you can feel immersed in the culture. The price was reasonable - $50 includes all meals for 2 people (June 2025). I can highly recommend Mari as a guide for walks in the surrounding area. He is good at spotting the many beautiful birds in the area. A microlet between Dili and Gleno will drop you off at the main road near the village, then there is about 1 km to walk unless you can find a local with a motorcycle to drop you so I recommend using a small backpack. We had a lovely experience there.

I spent a very good time here. Megan, the owner of the house lives in Australia but is always available through WhatsApp if you have any questions. I lived 5 days in this small village close to Dili and it was perfect in my opinion. You can connect to the local people, get delicious Timorese food from the neighboring family 3 times a day, explore the surrounding area, try some very good coffee at the biggest coffee producer of East Timor and just enjoy authentic calm village live. The house it self feels very cozy and if there are any problems Ateko, one of the family members who keeps an eye on the property while Megan isn’t around, can assist you most of the time!

It's a great place, very relaxing. It's only 50 minutes away from Dili and you feel really far away from everything. The familly is very nice, they provide all meals with local and freshly made timorese food. The forest surroundings is breathtaking. Our kids loved this place. The accommodation is simple but comfortable and clean. The weather in Ermera is nice and cool at night! I recommend and I will surely be back.

A lovely and peaceful place where we felt so at home and welcome. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the calm village life where we could really unwind. Quite easy to get here from Dili and lots of beautiful scenes to check out in the area. Ateko is very friendly and helped us a lot with our stay here. Strongly recommend!
