The service was good. When I ate there, an employee named Chef Jumbo presented his food in detail. The hotel has a very nice view, close to the beach, and behind it is a view of hills or mountains.
The overall vibe wasn’t for me. This hotel provides only one type of electrical outlet - the one for Type C Europlugs. Without a compatible charger or adapter, you won't be able to charge your devices. There are no USB ports, multi-standard sockets, or adapters available, even on loan. For Australians (Type I) and Americans and Japanese (Type A/B), a large percentage of visitors to Dili, this could be an issue. Universal outlets and USB ports are part of the basic standard for international hotels, so it was surprising that the hotel has not addressed this. The “Splash Pool” is nicely designed and inviting, but only open from 9 am to 6 pm and requires an additional $15 per person fee. If you're planning a family vacation, take note of this. Apparently the $15 fee comes with a "refreshing soft drink" but guests probably don't need a cheap sugary drink as much as they would prefer pool access included in lodging cost. As is common in tropical architecture (including Timor-Leste and Bali), this hotel designed a roofed but open-air lobby to allow breezes and natural ventilation. The roofed pavillion-style lobby is a nice feature. Still, for me, the experience at the Palm Springs Hotel (PHS) in Fatuhada Village of Dom Aleixo was far better. The guest experience at PSH was consistently superior in every aspect. PSH is also closer to Dive Timor, shops, Embassy Row, and many great restaurants including Castaway, Osteria and Pro-Ema.
Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Near Cristo Rei and the view is great. Highly recommended for both holiday and business stays!
It was an amazing experience at JL world hotel. Five star customer service, the meal options, the staff, the rooms, the view, exactly what the Dr ordered and more. I was here for a conference and can’t recommend this place enough both for holidays and events. It’s a working distance to the Cristo Rei and the staff were exceptional. I’d go back in a heart beat.
