Balibo fort hotel is very nice place in Balibo , It is a luxury hotel well maintained and with very amazing views. The food and rooms here are very good and like a 3 star hotel. I visited here during rainy season in the month of February and all the place is cloud covered and landscaping in the fort is amazing. I definitely recommend one night stay here and have great time here. Pool view is also very good and food is decent.

Beautiful hotel, very clean. Comfortable bed. Beautiful swimming pool. Restaurant is lovely with good menu including local options. Lovely view. The hotel's museum is informative and interesting. Very short walk to the Balibo Flag house and associated history. Although there's not a lot to do in Balibo for more than a day or so, I could happily stay in this hotel for a week!
A very pleasant stay. This remarkably historic fort has been beautifully refurbished. We enjoyed good rooms (thankfully with no TV), great food, a refreshing swim, and magnificent views from the posada balcony at sunset. The museum was very informative and well presented. A must stay in Balibo.
Staff service, aesthetics/refurb, historical significance & museum- have set a very high standard! But it’s such a shame that a place so critical throughout Timorese history is now overshadowed by exorbitant food prices. It’s common folklore that Balibo Hotel has some of the most unreasonable food and drink costs of all places to travel and lodge in Timor. You could feed me and 5 friends for the same price of their sirloin steak (could hardly chew) at similar lodging/restaurants. 5% service tax on top of it- make it make sense. We all want to love and support Balibo Hotel! The menu is the last frontier.
Really nice place, worth coming and visiting the Museum, and watching the sunset. If you are going to Maliana worth a stop. The prices the way I see it is $95 per/night for the location and given that the room is spacious and a king size bed, wonderful for couples. There are also rooms with two single beds, I see it as $47.5 per person including breakfast. The booking using WhatsApp was wonderful, the staff during the afternoon was wonderful, very nice, the following morning a snobby young lady, that kept on pushing me to speak in English, when I deliberately spoke in Tetun, as I am a timorese and rather communicate in my language. Not only was she snobby but when I asked for more pancakes, she said perhaps not because I would have to pay extra...who cares, not only is this horrible service, but it really kills the possibility of this spot to get more local tourists...
