Gratidão Guest House

Gratidão Guest House (Apartamento e Restaurante Gratidão) is a small guesthouse with its own restaurant on Rua Oebau, in the Costa area of Pante Macassar. Pante Macassar is the main town of Oecusse, Timor-Leste’s coastal enclave on the Savu Sea, set apart from the rest of the country by Indonesian West Timor.

Rooms are in single-storey blocks around a shaded garden courtyard, with air conditioning and a fridge, at about USD 30 a night. The Portuguese first landed in 1515 at Lifau, about 4.5 km west of the guesthouse, now marked by a monument.

Pante Macassar is reached by the ferry from Dili or overland through Indonesia.
